Solid silicone is the top of the reborn market — dense, squeezable and finished to a high paint grade. This guide explains full-body vs partial, platinum vs tin cure, the newborn sizes we run, and how to care for and source silicone baby dolls.
A silicone baby doll is cast in solid silicone rather than vinyl, giving a soft, skin-like surface you can squeeze. We only use the term “silicone baby doll” — never a bare “silicone doll”, which collides with unrelated adult-product searches. Full-body silicone is the collectible and gift tier of the reborn category.
Full-body silicone is solid throughout: squeezable, heavier, and the most lifelike to hold. Partial silicone pairs a silicone head and limbs with a cloth body — lighter and easier to pose, at a lower cost. Both are finished with the same hand painting; the difference is mostly feel and price.
Platinum-cure (addition-cure) silicone is the premium grade: more stable, odourless, and kinder to paint adhesion over time. Tin-cure (condensation) is cheaper but can yellow and is less durable. We default to platinum cure for artist-grade and export work, and will specify the grade on any quote.
Silicone is solid, heavier and collectible; vinyl is lighter, water-washable and built for volume. They are different products for different buyers rather than better and worse versions. The head-to-head is on our silicone vs vinyl guide.
We run silicone from 6″ miniatures through 18″ newborn, the size we make most. A full-body 18″ reaches up to 3,630 g — the weight that makes it feel real. Preemie and small-newborn scales start around 10″–12″.
At artist grade, silicone takes up to a dozen translucent paint layers, rooted mohair, veining and a weighted body tuned to a real newborn’s heft. The result is the most lifelike doll we produce — the benchmark our realistic dolls guide measures everything against.
Keep silicone out of direct sun and dress it in soft cotton to avoid colour transfer. Small surface nicks can be repaired in-house; we document the process so a doll can be refreshed rather than replaced. Avoid sharp jewellery and solvents near the surface.
Our silicone ranges have no minimum order quantity, with platinum or tin cure specified per market. Custom sculpt, paint grade, hair and your labelling are all open. Start on the custom dolls page or request pricing via OEM/ODM.

For realism and feel, yes; for price and maintenance, vinyl wins. Silicone is heavier and squeezable, vinyl is lighter and water-washable. The right choice depends on the buyer and budget.
Platinum cure is the stable, odourless premium grade that holds paint well over time. Tin cure is cheaper but can yellow and is less durable. We default to platinum for artist-grade and export work.
Solid silicone, many hand-painted layers, one-strand hair rooting and a weighted body add up to real labour. The material itself and the finishing time put silicone at the top of the market.
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvents and direct sun. Dress in soft cotton to prevent colour transfer from clothing.
